Trip Summary
The Kamba tribe is composed of different natural and cultural aspects, such as the spectacular anti-gravity site, the medicinal herbs. The people are also artistic by nature and produce beautiful weaved baskets and wood carvings. The tradition of witchcrafcy and herbs are mostly famous with this community. You will fully stay with a family in the community during this trip.

Day 1: Orientation and antigravity site
Pick up from Nairobi Hotel, have a community orientation and take a public means of transport with one of our staff to the Kamba community. You will be introduced to your new family and have your own private room then have a first taste of the Kamba meals for the lunch. In the afternoon drive to the antigravity site for the magical experience of water poured down running uphill.

Day 2: Culture of harmful and useful witchcrafcy
Learn more about witchcrafcy within the kamba community a common belief and practice among the kamba used in various occasions and needs such as punishment, securing positions, seductions etc. You will come face to face with a witch doctor and ask about their powerful gifts and if you want you can get some potion!

Day 3: Kamba Social life
Experience the Kamba social practices including the steps in marriages ceremonies, roles of genders and other social ceremonies this is where you will also notice that the Kamba dowry payment as the cheapest among the Kenyan communities, you will also learn about naming and get a local name too.

Day 4: Kamba Entertainments
After breakfast you will visit a women group that has maintained the kamba traditional dancing spirit which you will enjoy with them and learn some moves, the instruments are mainly huge drums and whistle with some shakers worn on the legs the famous dace you will enjoy is the spiritual dances called “Kilumi” You will have a chance to join in the dances and learn the purpose of these dances in the Kamba society.

Day 5: Prepare Kamba favorite dish
This day you will be taken mainly through the Kamba dishes, their Ingredients and preparations and learn why the dishes are the favorite among the Kamba people. The most favorite dish is known us Muthokoi mainly prepared from smashed corns grounded on mortar.

Day 6: Kamba traditional economic lifestyle
Initially Kamba people were mainly involved in the trade of Ivory, however since the trade was burnt, the kamba people are known to be the best wood carvers and baskets weavers since they mainly occupy semi arid areas of the Kenyan land. This day you will experience carving and weaving natural talents that has been passed on to generations from the fore fathers to date at the Wamunyu carving centre.

Day 7: Kamba community – Nairobi
Have your final Kamba breakfast and say goodbye to your family then drive to Nairobi to arrive before noon.
