CAR HIRE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

THE DRIVER’S LICENSE:

The hirer and/or authorized driver must have held a full and valid driving license for a minimum of 2 years. A driving license from the country of residence or an International driver’s permit is generally acceptable, provided valid as above.

The hirer and/or authorized driver must be over 23 years of age and under 70 years of age. The hirer and/or authorized driver must also be able to provide proper means of identification other than a driver’s license.

Theft Protection Insurance : [ TPW ] 
The Hirer's liability for theft of the vehicle is automatically covered subject to the terms and conditions of the car hire contract
 
Collision Damage Waiver :    [CDW ]
The Hirer's liability for damage to the vehicle is automatically covered subject to the terms and conditions of the car hire contract. Damage to tyres, windscreen and underneath of the vehicle is not covered.
 
Excess Liability Waiver :       [ ELW ]
Excess waiver is available for certain vehicles. This insurance cover protects the hirer/driver of having to pay any excess fees brought about by damage and /or loss to the vehicle.

CHAUFFEUR DRIVEN:
Our rates include all Government taxes, but DO NOT include fuel, any park entry fees and driver's allowances unless stated. The driver is applicable during working hours (0800 - 1800 hours). Drivers' overtime charges after 1800 hours is US$ 5 per hour.
Chauffeur driven cost includes:
- Services of English speaking Driver Guide.
- All Repairs.
- Driver Guide's Accommodation & Meals
- Parking system Costs where applicable.
- Fuel will be provided full when handing over a car.

Chauffeur driven cost excludes:
- Vehicle Park Entry Fee = US$ 15.
- Driver Guide Park and Reserve Entry Fee: Parks = US$ 5.
- Fuel Costs and will be returned back full tank.

SELF DRIVE:
Self drive cars are hired subjected to the company’s standard form of agreement wher by we as Malaika Ecotourism HAVE the right to refuse to the hirer to hire our cars at any time without giving any reasons why.

BOARDER CROSSING:
In case of boarder crossing, you have to notify Malaika Ecotourism for cross border formalities to be arranged. We should be informed at least 48hrs before the day of crossing the border.
Any other cross border charges are payable directly at the boarder arrangements which you will be charged extra.

INSURANCE / SECURITY:
All our vehicles are insured but in all cases, the hirer is responsible for repairs arising from damage to the vehicle dues to careless driving or careless handling of the vehicle. The vehicle should be returned the same way it was received.
Repairs of vehicle can be done only after informing Malaika Ecotourism to a tune of US$ 950 being the excess cost for Insurance. Windscreen and broken glass are the responsibility of the hirer. Loss of tires & tools are not covered by CDW (Collusion Damage waiver) or TPI (Theft Protection Insurance).N/B: the car should be locked at all times when parked.

N/B: UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD THE VEHICLE BE USED FOR:

*Carriage of passengers or property for hire.

*Racing, speed testing or driving instruction.

*Towing any other vehicle or trailer.

PAYMENTS:
A deposit of 50% should be made on time of confirmation and full payment of the hire should be made in 30 days before taking over the car.

In addition, a safety a deposit of US$ 980 is required from a hirer. The deposit is refundable upon safe return of the vehicle less any outstanding invoices. Windscreens, broken glasses / lenses, loss of tires and tools are responsibility of the hirer.
