Volunteer Tips

Volunteer and Change your life

Volunteering is a rare component in humanity. We pose a question: why would you volunteer? Take time off from busy education and work schedules created by technological advancement and participate in any of Malaika Eco-voluntary and Conservation projects. The choice of volunteering is personal and the impact of your actions is even more rewarding as it willl have a positive touch on someone’s life!

Make a difference in someone's life:

Technological advancement has created a dehumanizing society which has no time to lend a helping hand to the needy ones. By volunteering, a “sense of belonging” is nurtured and restored. This brings a touch of reality to neutralize the impacts of negative new world order. Make a difference through sharing your personal precious time, skills and knowledge and touch an innocent disadvantage soul or reverse the effects of global warming and climatic change through positive environmental activities. The reward is satisfaction in your heart that YES I have made a difference!

Malaika's volunteer approach & experience

Our approach and methodology is to disarm armchair expertise and top-down to grass root level of development issues. Malaika Eco-voluntary and Conservation programs give a chance to volunteers to work along side community members by complimenting each other on developmental issues. It will also give you a chance to understand communities challenges through sharing ideas, communicating and breeding home grown solutions for mutual benefit. This interaction and commitment is the experiential learning. Malaika endeavours to offer an enriched fulfilling experience afterwards!

Is Volunteering free?

A lot of people ask this question ’Is Volunteering free ?’What will I gain ?
Volunteering comes from the heart…it's a call - to go out and participate in action that will bring a change in our  communities or someone’s life. In essence, Volunteering means giving back to the community. Malaika Volunteer programs are voluntarily funded and are not profit making. They are also strictly focusing into community development, whereby a volunteer pay a fee to facilitate its own stay. This is simply linking up the volunteer with respective Community & and project. The fee caters for administration costs, meals, accommodation and Project preparation and logistics.

Please Note

Malaika facilitates all its programmes, in projects which are managed by the local communities. This is to ensure the sustainably of the project. The information received by volunteers before being on the ground is as accurate as possible. However, due to the very nature of the projects, the exact details of what happens during the project might evolve.
