Mau reforestation pilot project first phases

Bring your share and work with Coral Cay Conservation experts in Mau reforestation pilot project first phases. Live and share with the community, while protecting and restoring the great fauna and flora of indigenous Mau forest.

Indeed, this is one of the forests which were quoted in Copenhagen 2010 summit to show some challenges of the climate change effects. It is also the main water tower that serves Lake Victoria, one the biggest lakes in Africa. Deforestation effects of this forest have been felt up to the north of Africa, due to river Nile’s source is served by Mau Forest.

Join this pilot project made of two phases which last each for five weeks: Phase 1 (June 25th to July 30th) and Phase 2 (July 30th to September 3rd). Volunteers may thus elect to join either or both phases. The Expedition Fee for each phase is UK£ 1,350 and for volunteers wishing to join both phases will be UK£ 2,200.
